Parents getting
a message.
From the December 2004 Issue
We appreciate efforts by McNeil Consumer and Specialty Pharmaceuticals,
manufacturers of TYLENOL (acetaminophen) products,
to help make parents aware of the concentration differences
between Infants' and Childrens' Tylenol products. An advertisement
that ran in the November issue of Child magazine (www.child.com)
boldly states, "Our infants' medicine isn't half as concentrated
as our children's. It's three times more concentrated."
The ad further states, "Because it's more difficult to
get medicine into an infant's mouth, we've made our infants'
medicine more concentrated. Which means if you give it to
toddlers, you could be giving them too much. The makers of
Tylenol have created products designed for your children's
specific age and weight, so before you give them any medication,
follow the instructions on the label and use only the dosing
device provided. Stop.Think. Tylenol.com" It would be
helpful to cut out this add and post it wherever Tylenol products
are prescribed or sold. For more information, use the following

overdoses that appeared in our October
2002 issue
