Your Reports at Work.

From the May 2005 issue

Thanks to your reports about serious errors due to mix-ups between REMINYL (galantamine) and AMARYL (glimepiride), the Reminyl name is being changed. At first glance, Amaryl and Reminyl may seem sufficiently different, but when poorly handwritten, they look remarkably similar. Reminyl, which was formerly marketed by Janssen, will now be marketed by Ortho-McNeil Neurologics with a new name of RAZADYNE. Razadyne should be available in July 2005. An extended-release formulation of galantamine, RAZADYNE ER, should be available later this month. Thanks again for bringing this issue to our attention. Please help Ortho-McNeil Neurologics alert other healthcare practitioners to this change.
