From the February 2006 issue

Since February 2002, FDA has been producing a monthly series of patient safety videos that can be viewed on the web. Included among the many topics each month are reports of medication errors provided by ISMP or the Division of Medication Errors and Technical Support in FDA’s Office of Drug Safety. Available videos include Avoiding Fatal Overdoses with Fentanyl Patches and Preventing Asphyxiation from Aspirated Syringe Tip, which were recently discussed in this newsletter. Any computer with Internet access and appropriate media players can be used to view the programs, which are available at no charge through the ISMP or FDA web sites.
