Group Collaboratives

ISMP practitioners can collaborate with any group wishing to undertake a medication safety improvement project. Previous projects have taken many forms including the use of aggregate data from the Medication Safety Self Assessment® for Hospitals  to select and implement medication safety goals for both large and small group collaboratives, or working to implement targeted safety recommendations across a particular organization. ISMP can also assist organizations to develop specific medication-related metrics to demonstrate measurable safety improvements and outcomes.

Support for these collaboratives often includes onsite lectures or teleconferences, seminars, workshops, and participation in regularly scheduled telephone calls, face-to-face meetings, and other impromptu committee discussions. Time frames for these programs can vary from a few months to several years based on the group and the nature of the request.
